The Iswada mentoring was designed to empower young people aged between 16 and 25 in their educational pursuits while also exposing them to a network of positive Somali role models. The mentorship scheme aims to work at a community level to give more young British Somalis experience of working in the public sphere. Through connecting young British Somalis with both professionals working in the public domain and those working in the third sector, the programme enables young British Somalis to be exposed to a variety of opportunities will lead them to greater career opportunities, especially in domains that concern the public good.
